About Us

Engaging the Community on Climate Change

Climate Talk is a regional programme to raise public awareness and understanding of climate change and to promote low carbon lifestyles.

Climate Talk is a public engagement programme of the Stockholm Environment Institute which is based at the University of York.

The programme was established with funding from the DEFRA’s Climate Change Challenge. Its first project focused on climate change and the over 50’s in the North Yorkshire region.

The current project is the York Green Streets Challenge which is being implemented on behalf of the York Environment Partnership.

Climate Talk is being assisted by a number of individuals from different organsiations working together to ensure the success of the project:

Climate Talk is being led by the Stockholm Environment Institute at the University of York.
